Education & Awakening
Saumya's instinct led her to pursue a postgraduate degree in Fashion Design from Pearl Academy, where her understanding of design, textiles, and craftsmanship deepened. But alongside creativity came questioning.
She witnessed the overwhelming excess of the fashion industry — the waste, the overproduction, and the speed at which beauty was consumed and forgotten. She realised she did not want to contribute to that cycle.
The Nomadic Vision
Sun-faded fabrics, handcrafted details, heirloom textiles, tribal ornamentation, and vintage jewellery collected across cultures slowly became part of Calisya's visual language. This spirit evolved into what she calls Nomadic Luxury — a way of dressing inspired by travel, artistry, freedom, and conscious living.
The Studio
At the heart of Calisya is a creative design studio based between Austria and India, where ideas are developed in collaboration with a small network of artists, textile specialists, stylists, and independent designers from different cultural backgrounds. The studio functions as a space for experimentation, storytelling, and creative exchange — blending global inspiration with artisanal craftsmanship.
Rather than following mass-market trends, Calisya embraces collaborative creativity. Vintage jewellery is often restored, reworked, layered, or modified by hand into contemporary statement pieces, while reclaimed fabrics are transformed into garments that feel both timeless and deeply individual.
What Calisya Means
A brand rooted in emotion, transformation, and conscious creation. A space where discarded fabrics are given another life, where craftsmanship is honoured slowly, and where fashion becomes more than appearance — it becomes memory, culture, and meaning.
